I would like to suggest that in addition to carrying national EAS on the NPR Squawk (News Advisory) channel that NPR also carry EAS on "Squawk Net", the Breaking News Channel. NPR stations could then monitor the Breaking News Channel on their Endecs and have a direct line to national. Our station and a few others in our area have noted that the Sage Endec might have a problem. We have two units. One played the entire message through correctly. The other played back the first two seconds then the rest was silence. Another station in the area noted the same thing, one of their three units doing that. Anybody else?
I think I missed something in the conversation. Why are we not also testing the EAT code? EAT is just as much a part of the real process as is EAN. We use EOM every week. We know it works.
I liked the PSA ideas played in Friday's web meeting. NAB said, as I recall, that there were scripts on their website but I can't find them. Maybe this website would be a good place to post PSA ideas/scripts or links to them. Then we can "borrow" and/or adapt ideas from them.
It was not made clear, at least to me, whether or not we needed to log in to the Virtual Roundtable with a registration number of some kind. I haven't seen any such thing but would not like to try to log into the session and discover that I wasn't able to do so for lack of a number. Clarification anybody?
