Disaster Preparedness for EAS Participants

A Community Member suggested that Disaster Readiness and Preparedness be included as a topic. In addition to individual and family preparedness, it is important to have a plan to assure business and operational continuity of broadcast facilities and other EAS Participants. How do you prepare your facilities and operations to face a disaster?

EAS Weekly Reports-Best Practice

I can include any news and information about EAS, like the release of the Part 11 NPRM or changes in the RMT schedule. It's a good communication tool for our stations. ...more »

EAS in Schools

I think that there should be built in EAS monitoring thoughout schools, where if SAME tones are sent, then EAS would activate in schools and give people proper information. In elementry schools, the Main Office would get the notification and call a code "red". In 7-12, the schools would have all television and intercom broadcast the EAS message.

Virtual Roundtable Question

It was not made clear, at least to me, whether or not we needed to log in to the Virtual Roundtable with a registration number of some kind. I haven't seen any such thing but would not like to try to log into the session and discover that I wasn't able to do so for lack of a number. Clarification anybody?

Modulation Levels

This may be a little off topic, but we have a problem with getting EAS tones to modulate at 80% through some processors. Any ideas?
